  • Supervise attendants in the absence of the Operational Manager and provide guidance on tasks and safety procedures
  • Coordinate special events at beaches and parks with event staff and operational managers
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of beaches, picnic areas, parking lots, playgrounds, athletic fields, restrooms, and open park areas
  • Conduct quality inspections at park and beach locations to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Operate and coordinate light automotive, landscape, and ball field equipment, including small tractors, trash trucks, pickup trucks, and club cars
  • Assign equipment and tasks to subordinates, instructing on proper use and safety practices
  • Serve as liaison with clubs, organizations, and facility users to schedule and ensure proper maintenance and event preparation
  • Maintain operating records, complete material requests, service requests, work orders, and track daily maintenance schedules and safety checks

Work Hours: 

  • Operating Days: Sunday - Saturday
  • Work Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. shifts
  • Enjoy a flexible, rotating schedule that supports park operations and special events

About You

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • One year of experience in maintenance, construction or grounds maintenance
  • Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working with small equipment/engines (i.e., weed-eaters, chainsaws, pumps)
  • Knowledge of construction, Maintenance of beaches, water access parks and environmental stewardship with Computer skills
  • Able to operate small equipment, tractors, club cars, beach cleaner and county trucks not requiring a CDL License

Physical Demands:  Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay: $23.24/hr (Step 1) + $0.70/hr 2nd shift differential

Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience
