Responsible for organizing and controlling all aspects of M&T’s Credit Policy Manual to include but not limited to: drafting with limited supervision changes to Credit Policy that are clear, conscience and follow proper formatting. Member of a working group and approval committee(s) designed to shape and construct future credit policies of the bank. Conduct industry research and peer analysis and recommend changes in policy.
The position requires substantial interaction with both internal and external contacts in order to obtain pertinent information.
The position acts as liaison between department and other business units on various projects.
The incumbent works independently under very limited supervision as well as a member or a project leader of a project team.
Serves as resource for junior employees.
Mentoring, leadership of junior staff.
Bachelor’s degree (English/Business/Communications) and minimum of 3 years financial services experience including documenting policies and procedures,
OR in lieu of degree,
A combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience including 3 years financial services experience including documenting policies and procedures.
Previous experience writing documents that can be presented and understood to higher authorities.
Proficient in utilizing software applicable to documenting policies and procedures.
Ability to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.
Ability to simplify complex processes/concepts to maximize audience understanding.
Experience with various bank systems.
Experience with the Commercial Bank process\procedures and controls.
Previous experience as a paralegal.
Highly skilled proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, graphing, presentation, and department specific software.
