We are looking for a Credit Performance and Insights Lead to join our Portfolio Management team - a key function within Credit Risk, responsible for understanding and forecasting the financial health of the customer base. This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping how we understand, measure and improve the performance of debt prevention and collections strategies. You’ll design and embed metrics that bring portfolio quality and debt lifecycle performance to life, ensuring our strategies are underpinned by robust insights. By combining analytical depth with commercial understanding, you’ll help senior stakeholders make informed data-led decisions to manage risk and limit exposure across the portfolio.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills who enjoys connecting the dots between data, performance and strategy. Someone who has already built a solid foundation in credit analytics - perhaps an experienced senior analyst who is looking to step into a role with greater strategic influence. It needs someone who can operate beyond producing analysis and can shape how performance is measured, understood and improved. You’ll be naturally curious, commercially minded and enjoy working with a broad group of stakeholders.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing
Designing and maintaining a comprehensive performance metrics framework for portfolio quality, debt prevention and collections effectiveness across the residential and SME portfolios
Building automated dashboards with compelling data visualisations to highlight risk and pinpoint where action is needed
Conducting deep-dive analysis to explain changes in performance and root causes of risk then outlining the strategic or operational interventions required to remedy
Presenting key insights and performance updates to senior leaders through established credit management forums, influencing decision making and shaping strategic priorities
Collaborating with stakeholders to define success measures for new initiatives and evaluate their impact over time
Ensuring alignment of KPIs and reporting standards across Credit Risk, Finance and Operations
Are we the perfect match?
Proven experience in credit risk portfolio management or portfolio performance analytics within utilities or financial services
Strong analytical background with advanced SQL and/or Python for data manipulation and proficiency with data visualisation tools (ideally Tableau) for dashboarding
Strong understanding of credit lifecycle processes, particularly collections and debt management with knowledge of industry standard metrics e.g roll rates, liquidation, BDC
Excellent communication and data visualisation skills with the ability to translate complex data into business friendly insights with actionable recommendations
Experience in deep-dive analysis, root cause identification and analytical storytelling
A degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics or data science
It would be great if you had
Experience working with Databricks
Understanding of macroeconomic and market drivers affecting customer affordability and credit risk
Prior experience working across both residential and commercial consumer bases
Experience working with credit bureau data
