Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Provost's Special Advisor for French Outreach, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation and promotion of Francophone initiatives at McGill.

They will participate creatively and collaboratively in planning activities, producing content and disseminating information through various communication channels, in collaboration with students and internal and external partners.

This position is a great opportunity to get involved in projects that promote French and to develop skills in communication, coordination and community engagement.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning and logistics of activities and events related to Francophone projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in the coordination of training courses and workshops: research and communication with trainers, schedule planning, preparation of materials, logistical support.
  • Create and adapt promotional content (posters, newsletters, social media posts, visuals, etc.).
  • Ensure communication and dissemination of information to students and internal and external partners.
  • Support the drafting and formatting of documents (reports, reviews, presentations, messages).
  • Provide logistical support during events (reception, coordination, liaison with participants).
  • Contribute to the promotion of French and linguistic diversity through projects that highlight student engagement and university life.



Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French.
  • Creativity, organisational skills, autonomy and rigour in managing priorities.
  • Diplomacy, adaptability and ability to work collaboratively with various partners.
  • Proficiency with digital communication tools.
  • Strong interest in student life, linguistic diversity and Francophone initiatives.
  • Asset: experience in event communication, coordination of events and student projects, or multimedia content production.


NOTE this has a flexible work schedule with between 5 and 15 hours per week.

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #2 on a scale of 0-4.
