The Court Liaison Specialist is part of the Litigation Support team who serves as the primary point of contact between the firm and various courts, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of court-related administrative matters and court filings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure timely and accurate electronic filing of court documents, including pleadings, motions, and other legal papers.

  • Act as an administrative liaison between the firm and court personnel, including clerks and other court staff, excluding judges.

  • Ensure compliance with all court rules and procedures, including monitoring changes in court requirements and informing relevant parties.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff regarding court-related matters.

  • Maintain accurate records of all court electronic filings, appearances, and communications.

  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to court filings and procedures.

  • Provide training and support for attorneys and staff on court procedures and best practices.

  • Stay current with industry best practices and recommend improvements to the firm's court liaison processes.

  • Maintain confidential information for all matter-related activities.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in legal document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with electronic court filing systems (e.g., PACER, CM/ECF).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

  • Must have experience in Adobe Acrobat and working in PDF files.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with court personnel and firm staff.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships with colleagues and court personnel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to court procedures.

  • Thorough understanding of court procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a court liaison or similar role within a law firm or legal department.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Paralegal (CP) or similar) beneficial.

Hiring Salary Range:

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00
