The following position is to join our Corporate Strategy & Development team (CS&D):

The Corporate Strategy & Development group is responsible for driving the company’s long-term growth and value creation by shaping strategic priorities, evaluating new market opportunities and executing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions. CS&D reports directly to RTX’s President & CEO and the team serves as advisors to company leadership on the highest value issues and opportunities facing the company.

The Senior Manager position will be responsible for supporting a wide range of strategy and M&A projects. This individual will partner closely with senior leaders to evaluate growth opportunities, drive portfolio strategy, and support M&A transactions, including separation and integration activities. The candidate must be a highly analytical, structured thinker and must have the ability to take initiative, set strategic priorities, and take ownership of assigned projects/tasks and independently drive for results.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to acquisitions, divestitures, other financial transactions and strategic opportunities by leading financial modeling, presentation development and due diligence execution

  • Monitor and evaluate acquisition targets and key peer activities, including tracking recent events and analyzing performance / financial statements

  • Support integration or separation planning activities for businesses undergoing acquisition or divestiture

  • Construct analytical models in support of various strategy analyses

  • Support the development and execution of RTX’s enterprise and business unit strategies

  • Conduct market, competitive, and financial analyses to assess trends, threats, or opportunities

  • Establish productive working relationships with key functions within the businesses to understand businesses / strategic objectives, and execute deals / key projects

  • Assist in the preparation of senior-level briefings, which involves summarizing and communicating insights at the right level from detailed analyses

  • Balance multiple projects while providing clear thinking and hands-on guidance to cross-functional team members in a collaborative work environment

Qualifications You Must Have       

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

  • Proven analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance after day one

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Aerospace & defense, industrial, or technology sector experience a plus

  • Preferably several years of transactional experience (e.g., top-tier investment bank, corporate development role, consulting, VC)

  • Creativity and strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to take ownership of assigned projects/teams, handle ambiguity and independently drive for results

  • Strong problem-solving skills (prioritization, critical thinking, hypothesis creation, etc.)

  • Ability to think pragmatically – not just theoretically – and drive execution of concepts

  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Outstanding multi-tasking and teamwork capabilities

  • Familiarity with financial data services (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Factset, Bloomberg) a plus

  • Ability to develop credibility and earn respect with individuals at all organizational levels

  • Proven ability to listen, negotiate, influence and persuade others

  • Preferred: Active and transferable security clearance

    The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
