Team:

The Corporate Development team’s mission is to be on the forefront of accelerating the development and execution of Genesys’ strategy primarily, but not exclusively, through buy-side M&A. The team has completed 21 acquisitions since becoming an independent company in 2012. Additionally, the team supports other ad hoc projects, including investments, divestitures, partnerships, strategy projects, and aspects of integration.

Role:

The Corporate Development Manager will report to the Head of Corporate Development. This position is a mix of leading projects, supporting senior team members in the execution of projects, and being a resource to junior team members. The role will focus on buy-side M&A (from M&A strategy to deal execution), though will contribute to other Corporate Development projects including integration success, minority investments, sell-side projects, and other special initiatives.

This position will be a hybrid role based in our Menlo Park office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Stay on top of market trends; deep-dive into segments to assess investment merits; collect competitive intelligence and map market/industry segments

  • Sourcing: Scout for appropriate candidates given a general investment thesis; cultivate network to drive future inbound opportunities

  • Evaluation: Lead qualitative/quantitative analysis & create a business case to support an LOI decision

  • Deal Execution: Initially help project manage aspects of the diligence process, though quickly grow scope over time; drive analytics and documentation of findings to Executive Management

  • Integration: Support the integration team with knowledge transfer and other special projects

Qualifications / Skills Desired and Preferred:

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience at an investment bank, private equity, strategy consulting, transaction services firm, or corporate development

  • Ideally has completed an analyst program at an investment bank, private equity, strategy consulting, or transaction services firm

  • M&A deal experience (ideally some buy-side experience)

  • Experience in the enterprise software industry; direct exposure to CX is a plus

  • Intellectual curiosity, including affinity to learn about products & technology

  • Consistent ability to deliver high-quality work

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Expertise and interest in being a teacher/resource to junior team members

  • Deep understanding of accounting concepts related to P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity and minimal supervision. Proactive self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently interact with internal and external leads

  • Other table stakes skills (e.g., Advanced Excel/PowerPoint, financial modeling, presentation building)

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.  

$110,700.00 - $205,500.00
