Boeing Global Engagement (BGE), a team within Government Operations, works to improve the communities in which Boeing operates and in which our employees live. We accomplish this through charitable investments, advocacy, community relations, volunteerism, grassroots efforts and other activities.
As Boeing’s BGE representative for Missouri and Kansas, you will support the Central Region BGE team efforts to meet the needs of the business and the community by investing in strategically aligned programs with nonprofit organizations and supporting employee community engagement activities. Additionally, you will lead employee community engagement opportunities, coordinate with school districts on K-12 and higher education opportunities, and support employee giving initiatives. You will also serve as subject matter expert for local community issues and provide recommendations to ensure effective community engagement.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Lead Boeing’s charitable grant process in portions of Missouri and Kansas, including executing effective proposal evaluation criteria, developing approval justifications, managing distribution process for charitable contributions and evaluating investments to ensure quantifiable results and performance to plan
Coordinate sponsorship events including budgeting, benefits and attending as requested
Manage higher education portfolio partnerships as assigned
Coordinate and execute volunteer community engagement events
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, internal leaders and external partners, including government, community and nonprofit leaders
Represent the company as directed across the region, including in public settings (e.g., Boeing-sponsored community events)
Promote Government Operations priorities and provide subject matter expertise to site leadership and other company leaders who manage and participate in external relationships
Influence decision makers and stakeholders by providing information related to issues and providing recommendations to best represent the interests of the company
Develop and implement actionable and measurable community investment, business sponsorship and advocacy plans that align to corporate strategies and ensure effective use of company resources
Identify how community involvement can support business objectives and develop and implement execution plans
Ensure that activities align with business unit strategy and support the Boeing brand
Build strategic cross-functional and cross-organizational partnerships to resolve problems, improve processes through continuous improvement and achieve operational and strategic goals
Additional Responsibilities
Significant cross-functional collaboration and cooperation with Communications, Government Operations, Human Resources, Ethics, Boeing subsidiaries and other organizations
Travel will be required to support where Boeing and its subsidiaries have a significant presence as well as periodic travel outside the central region to attend functional meetings
Significant local travel to support community partner site visits, meetings, and events
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience using strategic problem-solving/analysis and communicating at senior management levels
5+ years of communication experience, both written and verbal, with public speaking and frequent interactions with senior-level management
5+ years of experience delivering presentations
5+ years of experience influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and partnerships across functions
5+ years of experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher
10 or more year's related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working with non-profit organizations and/or at community engagements
Experience developing and fostering relationships with higher education organizations and students
Experience developing/implementing strategic plans
