About the Program
The Carer Gateway Services have been created in the context of national reforms and represent an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative carer services. In 2010 the Carer Recognition Act was legislated and contained 10 principles detailing how Carers in our community should be treated in policy, programs and service delivery. In 2011, a National Reform of Carer Services was announced. As part of this reform, the Carer Gateway Service Project was established in 2018 and Wellways were involved in developing and Self- Guided and Facilitated Coaching and the In-person Peer Support Program for the national service.
About this Opportunity
Join Wellways in a leadership role that drives excellence in carer support across Queensland and NSW. As the Coordinator, Carer Intake and Planning, you will oversee the 24/7 operations of our Carer Gateway Contact Centre, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for carers connecting via phone, email, video and face to face channels. You will lead a team of Intake and Registration Officers, fostering professional growth, teamwork and service excellence in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment. Working as part of a united leadership team, you will collaborate with Contact Centre Coordinators and other program leaders to deliver exceptional service outcomes, ensuring every carer receives timely, friendly and professional support.
We are seeking a strong and collaborative leader who is passionate about improving the lives of carers and contributing to the success of the entire Carer Gateway program. You will bring a deep understanding of the caring role, national carer policy and evidence-based support models, while championing carer peer employment and inclusion of diverse communities.
