- Presents the monthly financial results, full year forecast outlook and key variances to local and BU stakeholders. Holds the Reporting Unit leadership team accountable to budget targets and drives closure on performance gaps impacting sales, operating income, and performance free cash flow
- Leader of the monthly RU earnings call process with BU Leadership. Articulates results in English using clear explanations for causals of revenue, operating income and cash flow variances. Oversees preparation of financial schedules to Business Unit and Corporate standards.
- Oversight of Finance Department activities through the Assistant Controller including Inventories, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Costing, Fixed Assets and Taxes
- Leads the annual preparation of the Budget and Long-Range Plan for the RU. Works across the RU functions to develop cost center budgets which align with BU targets for sales, operating income and cash flow. Meets BU timing milestones using a structured team-based project management approach
- Responsible for local accounting system; ensuring the controls over accurate financial reporting are effective. Monitors data integrity of vendor and customer information. Maintains automated systems and controls around local statutory reporting including electronic billings to federal government systems
- Responsible for sustaining Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) ICFR internal controls, adhering strictly to Corporate policies, US GAAP and Mexican Statutory accounting principles, and legal requirements. Coordinates timely closure of internal control audit deficiencies across local Finance or other Reporting Unit functions.
- Leads the financial modeling of new business quotations. Oversees the gathering of key assumptions around revenue, cost, investments and other cash flow factors. Presents the outcome of different quote options against the company’s internal hurdle rates (ROI, AOM%). Contributes to the business case development for corporate approval of new investments (e.g. Appropriation Request). Ensures controls over capex spending related to new programs.
- Oversees gathering of financial data required for commercial negotiations around inflation, tariffs, volume claims. Presents data to the Plant Manager and Sales team in a clear and concise manner. Facilitates the compilation of evidence which clearly articulates claims to customers.
- Ensures Mexican Statutory compliance for the Reporting Unit. Including timely submission of income tax returns, tax payments and VAT returns. Oversees collection of VAT refunds. Submits quarterly data to the company’s global tax team for US GAAP reporting and participates in the annual soft close to estimate year end tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740 and ASC 450. Supports any tax audits, investigations or other requests from external advisors.
- Ensure local Logistic’s team maintains IMMEX requirements, VAT certifications and compliance with obligations thereof. Oversees the annual validation of SAP core business data and IMMEX Annex 24 software. Including checking of scrap, bill of material, annual physical inventory valuation. Ensures that annual US customs value reconciliation process is completed for toll manufacturers.
