About the Role

This role involves designing automatic motion control systems algorithms for off-highway industrial machinery such as tractors, combines, excavators, and dozers. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and optimizing core control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++, and integrating these into products.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and productize control law algorithms.

  • Use MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design (MBD).

  • Apply sensor fusion and filter design for pose estimation.

  • Design signal conditioning and feedback loop compensation.

  • Develop and validate non-linear vehicle dynamics plant models.

  • Evaluate algorithms in simulations and target environments.

  • Support integration and performance validation on real-time hardware/operating systems.

  • Define system/software architecture.

  • Ensure ongoing testing and product quality

What Skills & Experience You Should Have

  • 5+ years of experience in control algorithm development for dynamic systems.

  • Master’s or PhD Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, GNC, or related fields, preferred.

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink development.

  • Practical experience with automatic controls of off-highway machinery.

  • Experience in test, verification, validation, and productization of algorithms.

  • Familiarity with requirements decomposition and management tools.

  • Experience with plant simulation tools.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% annually.

What Skills & Experience You Could Have

  • Experience in state estimation (Kalman filters).

  • Experience leading small technical projects.

  • Simulink auto-code generation.

  • Experience with GNSS+IMU state estimation.

  • Autonomous/Semi-autonomous vehicle control.

  • Experience with Systems Identification, Simscape, or similar tools.

  • Safety-critical software development and certification.

  • HIL and SIL testing.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ software development.

  • Experience with the ROS ecosystem.

  • Background in guidance, navigation, and control for missiles, ships, submarines, or autonomous vehicles.

Trimble AgIS provides GNSS and Control System-based hardware and software technologies for implementing customer solutions, including those for the PTx Trimble JV with Agco.

Compensation:  Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.

$122,642.00–$165,466.00
