What You'll Be Doing
In partnership with CBWM partners the role provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to Projects related to Governance, Risk, and Regulatory Controls for CBWM. Completing analysis and proving project support, while reporting to all levels of management to address changing and ongoing regulatory requirements and risks in conjunction with business needs of internal and external clients. You are curious, and passionate about ensuring our CBWM Relationship Managers continue to be focused helping our clients achieve their ambitions while also meeting our regulatory and risk requirements. You are not afraid to challenge the status quo in a professional and productive way and want the opportunity to develop creative solutions. The role exercises judgement in providing business support of needs for new regulatory initiatives and enhancements to business-as-usual actuals. The role will extend to participation in the development/execution of projects and progress updates to leadership.
The Consultant will also be relied as a subject matter expert, identifying problems and resolutions, and assessing the impact of proposed changes to CBWM. The role often operates in ambiguous situations and provides innovative, original ideas, accountable to broadly defined objectives. The ability to establish and maintain partnerships across CIBC is essential to success in the role.

How You’ll Succeed
Relationship Building - Build and maintain relationships with SMEs, CBWM Partners and Enterprise-wide Governance, Risk, and Control teams.
Project Leadership - Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Governance and Controls providing support and collaboration on Project initiatives related to Regulatory changes. Partner with CBWM Leaders and Project stakeholders. Develop and execute on business unit specific strategy, develop and maintain appropriate materials to support required deliverables.
Risk and Regulatory Management - Identify risk and control issues and participate in various regulatory and risk assessment activities and discussions. Develop detailed understanding, summarize and efficiently understand the impact to our CBWM partners, communicate assessments and impacts. Map business control processes, support Regulatory initiatives and document various gaps and analysis.
Risk and Controls Consulting - Acts as risk and controls SME. Participates in governance and regulatory initiatives to manage risk and control issues. Consult on new initiatives from a risk and controls perspective.
Risk Remediation - Support development of remediation action plans. Acts as SME where required to support deficiency owners in executing action plans. Compile, Record and Submit evidence for deficiency or deviation closure.
Audit & Regulatory Governance (Internal / External) - Liaison with internal and external auditors. Gather audit and other examination evidence. Supports analysis required to respond to audit/exam findings. Coordinate meetings, support all activities and act as the point of contact throughout the audit lifecycle. Support development of action plans post audit.
Reporting and Analytics - Perform analysis and produce reports periodically and ad-hoc.
Governance & Controls Framework - Contribute to development, execution, and maintenance of CBWM Business Effectiveness Governance, Risk, and Control Framework. May require providing additional support for activities related to Business Continuity, Service Continuity, Review of Standards etc. from time to time.
Process Optimization - You will act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with the Process Optimization Team to provide guidance in the design and implement of process changes across the Wealth Management businesses with a focus on simplification, consolidation and/or automation of high impact opportunities to drive frontline productivity lift while ensuring processes remain aligned to our risk appetite and adhere to regulatory requirements.
Procedure and Knowledge Management - You will act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with senior members on the Business Effectiveness Team to develop and maintain effective procedures and knowledge management systems, contributing to business risk effectiveness to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Great effort will be to ensure the procedures are up-to-date, simple and concise. Use of CIBC Artificial Intelligence (CAI) will assist to simply procedures or provide alternative solutions.
