Northrop Grumman is seeking a Configuration Management or Principal Configuration Management Analyst. This position will be in Warner Robins, GA, on-site, and will support the Integrated Mission Solutions Operating Unit, within the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector. This location primarily supports the design, delivery, and sustainment of embedded electronic systems on various US and foreign airborne platforms.

The successful candidate will be responsible for configuration management of technical data and documents related to the design, modification, production, or sustainment of complex embedded defense-related electronic systems. In this role, the candidate plans and coordinates the preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Additionally, the candidate is expected to perform configuration management planning, process control, and execution using the designated configuration management tool to ensure baselines are maintained and reproducible. They will also schedule and manage Configuration Control Board and/or Technical Review Board activities, conduct configuration identification and audits, collect and analyze CM metrics to identify areas for process improvement, and maintain, update, and improve CM processes and procedures. The candidate may also support other engineering activities related to document management, computer-aided design work request workflows, CM process improvement, and proposal support.

Candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills and is expected to execute the configuration management analyst role with limited day-to-day guidance in a fast-paced team environment.

Basic Qualifications for Configuration Management Analyst Level 2
• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ experience (or 6 years’ experience in lieu of a degree) supporting configuration management in a US Department of Defense contracting environment; 0 years’ experience with a master’s degree is also accepted
• Demonstrated knowledge of CM principles, concepts, practices, and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with competing tasks
• Excellent communication, business analytical, and problem-solving/trouble shooting skills
• Effective customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally inside the organization
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SharePoint
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Basic Qualifications for Principal Configuration Management Analyst Level 3
• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ experience (or 9 years’ experience in lieu of a degree) supporting configuration management in a US Department of Defense contracting environment; 3 years’ experience with a master’s degree is also accepted
• Demonstrated ability to execute and complete tasks with minimal supervision or direction
• Demonstrated knowledge of CM principles, concepts, practices, and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously
• Excellent communication, business analytical, and problem-solving/trouble shooting skills
• Effective customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally inside and outside the organization
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience with one or more of the following:  Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, Power Automate)

  • 2+ years’ experience using Jira in a software development environment

  • Demonstrated experience developing or improving Configuration Management processes, procedures, or systems

  • 5+ years’ experience supporting the development, sustainment, or deployment of US military electronic warfare, radar, avionics or sensor systems

  • Demonstrated experience with Siemens Teamcenter for configuration management of technical data

  • 3+ years software configuration management in a DoD environment

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $63,800.00 - $95,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
