WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
To provide leadership to the Porter Team. To communicate clear standards of service and process that provide the Porter Team with the knowledge, training and tools required to exceed our guest’s expectations. The Porter team plays a crucial role in supporting Blue Mountain’s objective to be the number one conference resort in Ontario.
- Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance.
- Works with Banquet Leadership to continually challenge and establish performance expectations and communicate those expectations to reports.
- Holds porter team accountable to service expectations.
- Ensures conference service spaces are held in acceptable condition. This includes staying on top of needed repair and cleanliness of all interior service areas and exterior parts of the building.
- Communicates with CEM's and clients.
- Seek opportunities to deliver exceptional service to clients.
- Supervises and participates in the set-up and tear-down of meeting rooms, stocking of linen and inventory management.
- Weekly, creates bar requisitions from BEO information. Daily, ensures bar requisitions are filled and delivered to Banquet bars.
- Participates in Beverage Control measures by performing periodic audits and supervising transfer processes.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
- Strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of lodging software, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Minimum 2 years leadership experience.
- Previous 2 years Porter experience and working knowledge of Conference/Banquet operations.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
- Valid Driver’s license an asset.
