The Boeing Company seeks an accomplished Communications Manager experienced in strategic communications planning and execution to serve as manager of CEO and Employee communications for Boeing Global Services (BGS). This position will be based in Plano, TX, Seattle, WA or the St. Louis area (Berkeley, MO, Hazelwood, MO).

This role serves as a strategic communications advisor to the BGS President and CEO and BGS functional leaders and oversees a team of communications professionals responsible for developing and implementing communications plans for the business. As a member of the BGS Communications leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading their direct reporting line and will also play a key role in shaping the communications strategy, team culture and operating norms for the BGS communications team and with our communications partners across the function. This position is responsible for ensuring alignment and information sharing across communications and business partners and facilitating strong relationships internally and externally to enhance project outcomes and drive success for BGS. Coordination with Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing, Defense, Space and Security communications is critical to this role’s success.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Communications planning and execution. Partner with teammates and broader communications partners on the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that advance business goals, support BGS performance and wins, and strengthen awareness and understanding of BGS priorities and accomplishments with employees and external stakeholders

  • Strategic counsel. Serve as communications advisor to BGS executive leaders, providing counsel on messaging, thought leadership and engagements with internal and external stakeholders

  • Talent management, development and team culture. Live and champion the Boeing Values and Behaviors. Partner globally across communications to strengthen collaboration and support our talent pipeline. Proactively discuss and advocate for direct reports’ professional development. Actively support team culture initiatives, being responsive to employee feedback. Partner with your team to amplify the BGS Service Champion culture

  • Executive and brand positioning. Proactively position senior leaders and subject-matter experts, working in partnership with the external communications and analytics team to represent BGS priorities and advance business messages with media, including global and national outlets, trade publications and industry news sources, podcasts, influencers and other channels effective in reaching target audiences

  • Functional excellence. Foster a continuous improvement mindset across the BGS communications team by identifying and driving process improvements, coaching teammates on change adoption and measuring outcomes to improve efficiency and quality. Remain current with industry trends, technologies and advanced techniques for achieving business outcomes through strategic communications

  • Measurement and optimization. Work in partnership with external communications and analytics team, measure and analyze communications strategies and tactics, and, where necessary, adjust to optimize effectiveness

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ years of experience in communications and/or marketing

  • 7+ years of experience in a role that required project management skills

  • 5+ years of experience in providing counsel to senior executives and leaders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or related field that aids in an advanced understanding of communications disciplines

  • Experience leading teams, fostering collaboration driving performance that supports business objectives

  • Knowledge of commercial aviation and defense industries and relationships with media

  • Experience serving as a strategic communications advisor to C-suite level business leaders, providing counsel on a wide range of issues including communications and campaign strategy, messaging, market positioning, stakeholder engagement and employee communications

Summary pay range: $133,450 – $193,200
