Commercial Contracts Manager
Remote Working
(with regular travel and attendance in the London office and hospital sites)
Full Time 37.5 hours per week
We are looking to appoint a full time Commercial Contract Manager to join our commercial team to support the Head of Commercial Contracts in managing our relationships with the private medical insurance companies (PMIs) in a collaborative way that encompasses clinical delivery, service excellence and commercial and to also ensure we meet our contractual obligations.
You will report to the Head of Commercial Contracts as part of a small team.
What you will do
Support the development and maintenance of relationships with a specified portfolio of PMIs through regular engagement, contract management meetings, site-based meetings, and to promote Ramsay as a provider of choice.
Prepare presentations for quarterly business review meetings, recording actions and business plans.
Identification and participation of business development opportunities, including the appropriate liaison with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate such opportunities and bring appropriate ones to fruition
Development and submission of commercial propositions for new services & service lines, pathways and new ways of working that promotes efficiency and effective claims administration.
Project manage initiatives from concept to operational delivery
Lead the negotiation of new contracts and price negotiation with your specified portfolio of PMIs managing the contracting process where contracts fall due for renewal.
Work in conjunction with the Commercial Team to raise awareness of contractual obligations across the broader business and to ensure those obligations are observed including, where necessary, reporting and monitoring of contractual KPIs.
Liaise with the National Enquiry Centre (NEC) and site teams, including Hospital Directors, Private Patient Managers and Business Relations Managers , to position consultants to the maximum advantage with PMIs to maximise referrals
Work with the Central clinical team, to develop and enhance the quality proposition and agenda with the PMIs through meetings, presentations, site visits, KPI reporting etc
Analyse trends in PMI activity & revenues and proactively source market trends to provide insight into Ramsay performance against the market as a whole.
Liaise with insurers re eligibility of new procedures & treatments, price variations, new price proposals, changes in services etc.
Oversee and manage the submission of tender documentation for designated PMIs
Oversee and manage the submission of all necessary KPI and quality returns to the designated PMIs
Oversee insurer complaints & liaising between insurers, hospitals & Ramsay corporate clinical team as necessary, and to receive, review and circulate data from insurers relating to complaints and feedback surveys.
Work in conjunction with the Commercial Team to receive & review all clinical incident notifications and collation of reports as necessary from sites for onward communication to designated insurers.
What you will bring
Detailed understanding of the PMI and private healthcare market, including the collaborative roles of insurers, providers and clinicians
Experience in successfully negotiating and managing commercial contracts, with a focus on relationship development
Detailed knowledge of PMI contracts and networks
Analytical skills and the capability to manage multiple projects and work streams simultaneously
Advanced Excel and computer skills
An ability to demonstrate a willingness to work positively within a Team to achieve Team goals and excellence in service delivery
An ability to demonstrate creativity and diversity to deliver excellent customer service and achieve positive organisational outcomes in line with the Ramsay Way Vision and Values
