Description of the job

A fixed term contract (12 Months ) has become available within the Commercial organisation at Airbus Defence and Space, Elancourt for the position of Commercial & Contract Manager ('C&C') within CyberSecurity.

The C&C Manager will be responsible for the management of all Commercial and Contractual aspects of allocated bids and contracts across this diverse programme line.

This role will require a candidate who is experienced, self-motivated and solution orientated with excellent communication skills both internally and externally across a range of stakeholder ; expertise in preparing and executing winning proposals with experience of customer dialogue and negotiation in order to secure new sales and maximise profitability on existing contracts in a dynamic growing market.

Mission  

The C&C Commercial & Contract Manager of Airbus Defence and Space I CI I Cyber will (i) support the leadership and direction to the Cyber C&C function and (ii) take directly in charge the support & management of bids and contracts.

The role reports to the Head of Commercial & Contracts Defence Digital & Cyber.

Tasks & accountabilities

The C&C Commercial & Contract Manager will ensure that the interests of Cyber are fulfilled through providing commercial and contractual leadership and expertise throughout the full lifecycle of the bids and contracts.

The key responsibilities of the Commercial Manager are:

  • Provide overall commercial leadership, guidance and expertise in support of Cyber Sales and Programme teams.
  • Manage all C&C matters within bids and contracts, from receipt of RFP to project closure and ensure commercial risks are highlighted and mitigated.
  • Manage and mitigate Airbus cybersecurity legal risks and exposure and support resolution of pre-contentious / contentious issues with customers.
  • Review the non-technical part of all RFPs received by Cyber and provide recommendations re. go/no, go,bid/no bid decision process and proposed deviations client's requirements.
  • Prepare the commercial and contractual elements, inputs and documentation as required for internal review meetings (according to Airbus process and quality rules).
  • Interface with other functions such as legal, compliance (including data protection), tax, insurance, finance, treasury, offset and procurement.
  • Define requirements for flow down to suppliers, subcontractors and co-contractors and ensuring that financial risks are assessed in the proposal.
  • Lead the commercial aspects of customer negotiations along with drafting and negotiation of main contracts, transaction documents and related legal issues.
  • Prepare and distribute the relevant documentation required for Maturity Gates/RMC Support the management of contracts with the project teams.
  • Responsible for contract administration and the Legal integrity of contracts for the Airbus cybersecurity contracts organizations and operations.
  • Take an active role in developing best practices and improving the quality of standard contracts and processes.
  • Support the discussions related to partnerships with third parties including NDAs, MoUs, Teaming and Consortium Agreements.
  • Review, amend and/or draft agreements and contracts and ensure the proper integration of various elements by acting as focal point and interface.

Required skills

  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills within the commercial fields such as Commercial, Legal, Sales, Procurement, bidding & project delivery. At least 5 years' experience in a legal or commercial role.
  • Experience of working with Governmental and Non-Governmental customers on product and moderately complex proposals and contracts.
  • Ideally qualified preferably in French commercial law. Combining solid academic background and some experience in various areas of law in an international context, in particular contract law, business law & IP law.
  • Knowledge of French Government (including French MoD) contracts and contacting mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of finance topics would be a plus
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks and use initiative.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and with attention to detail. Proactive and creative, able to anticipate problems and propose pragmatic solutions.Ability to operate at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Autonomous and team player, flexible and able to report clearly and timely on complex issues.
  • Comfortable working at an international level and is at ease interacting with people at all levels.
