Role Summary:


The Commercial Business Partner (CBP) is the primary commercial point of contact for the plant, leading the local commercial operations team and co-owning the success of the MRO and Project “hub” business model. The CBP ensures optimal utilization of hub resources, drives process adoption, and maintains high standards for proposal quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the local commercial operations team; accountable for overall performance.
  • Ensure team buy-in and adherence to the MRO and Project “hub” business model.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Hub Director on opportunities and issues.
  • Own and manage an effective triage process for customer enquiries, ensuring 50–75% or more are optimally handled by hub resources.
  • Co-own MRO and project quote response times.
  • Ensure hubs have access to the same tools and data as local teams; work with IT and hub directors to develop new tools.
  • Co-own proposal quality with hub management, ensuring proposals meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Represent the customer within the plant, connecting plant management and teams with sales and the customer.
  • Assist with problem-solving (e.g., Incoterms changes, manufacturing or delivery issues).
  • Collaborate with sales management to provide early warnings of business challenges affecting plant capacity, engineering, supply chain, and project management.
  • Communicate challenges to BU commercial operations directors and hub management.
  • Challenge plant teams on competitive costs, warranties, and delivery performance.
  • Use sales and market feedback, analysis, and statistics to support the pricing team in determining market-level pricing.
  • Connect market trends with the BU SIOP team for the plant.
  • Align with product management on product and manufacturing strategy.
  • Assist with commercialization of new products and execution of BU strategies for existing products.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure effective and timely quotation triage (24–48 hour response for key customer segments).
  • Support highly engineered MRO and ETO projects for target customers.
  • Provide backup and support for plant/local commercial operations and global commercial ops hubs.

Requirements:

  • BS and/or relative experience
  • Experience in commercial operations, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in pricing, market analysis, and process optimization.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, supply chain, and IT teams.
  • Customer-focused approach with problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • 4 year degree and 5+ years of relative experience
  • Nuclear experience

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Reports to: Commercial Operations Director
  • Collaborates with: Hub Director, Plant Manager, Sales Management, Product Management, BU SIOP Team, IT, and Pricing Team.
