Commerce Editor, New York Post

NYC - 1211 Ave of the Americas Full time

Job Description :

The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture, and Entertainment – with signature wit, irreverence, and authority averaging 90 million unique monthly viewers. Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television, and commerce.

The Role

We’re hiring a Commerce Editor on the revenue-generating commerce team. This is not a business reporting role. You will edit and publish fast, useful shopping coverage across the New York Post Digital Network, including the New York Post and, if needed at times, Page Six and Decider. This is a general-assignment role. You will float wherever, and cover whatever reader demand and revenue opportunities are highest across the full Shopping vertical.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit, package and publish a wide variety of commerce content, including, but not limited to: deals content, newsy explainers, buyer’s guides, financial and evergreen content.

  • Contribute stories from the above categories as requested.

  • Write sharp, on-brand headlines and display copy. Provide 3 to 5 headline variants for testing when appropriate.

  • Manage the queue, and move copy from draft to live with speed and accuracy.

  • Own the strategy for refreshing evergreen content: regularly audit top-performing posts to update prices, stock, and links to maximize long-tail revenue.

  • QA affiliate links and tracking. Ensure clean, conversion-ready formatting.

  • Optimize for SEO, AEO and GEO using trend tools and search data.

  • Monitor performance in dashboards to make rapid, data-backed adjustments and identify new content verticals or revenue gaps to pitch to leadership.

  • Provide actionable edits and coaching to reporters when requested. Maintain voice and standards.

  • Source, crop and optimize high-quality product imagery ensuring compliance with affiliate partners and copyright standards.

  • Collaborate with the Partnerships team to prioritize high-yield merchants and tentpole sales events (Prime Day, Black Friday) without compromising editorial integrity.

How We Measure Success

  • Output and speed: reliable edit speed, rapid time-to-publish, on-time handoffs.

  • Quality and accuracy: clean copy, fact check, airtight linking, zero avoidable corrections.

  • Impact: CTR, conversion, revenue per session, search visibility.

  • Ownership: proactive pitching, smart prioritization, strong collaboration.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 4 years of experience editing in a fast digital newsroom or commerce operation with strong clips.

  • Committed to producing service-oriented content with a commercial focus.

  • Command of the NY Post voice and headline craft.

  • A growth mindset.

  • Able to both set and enforce deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of SEO and affiliate platforms.

  • Interest in or knowledge of AEO and GEO.

  • Comfort with analytics and experimentation (Search Console, GA4, Looker or similar).

  • CMS fluency and strong attention to detail, including AP style, link hygiene and FTC-compliant disclosures.

  • Organized, adaptable and calm under deadline. Collaborative communicator.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Amazon Associates, Skimlinks, or similar affiliate dashboards.

  • Experience jumping between categories and services that help shoppers protect value.

  • Deeper understanding of AEO, GEO and AI overview.

  • Newsletter experience.

Note: This role will be expected to report on-site 5 days per week.
