The Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for an appointment in U.S. history, Reconstruction through the Civil Rights Era, at the Assistant Professor level (tenure-track) to begin August 15, 2026. Thematic expertise of research and teaching are open, with a preferred focus on legal history; scholars whose work engages with digital methods and tools are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate History courses, closely mentor graduate students, and provide evidence of an ambitious research and publication agenda. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in History by the appointment start date.
