Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute in various research projects during the Winter 2026 Co-op term, preferably for a 12-month duration. The position supports laboratory operations by performing routine tests, maintaining equipment, assisting with laboratory projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for analysis according to standard procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant standards.
- Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner.
- Receive samples, record them in the database, and ensure timely shipment to the relevant plant after assessments
- Follow all laboratory health and safety protocols and best practices and guidelines.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate work to maintain efficiency and ensure timely completion of laboratory tasks.
- Coordinate with other technicians to complete tasks according to the planned schedule.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support senior technicians and scientists in ongoing projects.
- Perform any reasonable tasks and contribute to projects as directed by the manager to support laboratory operations.
Qualifications
- Senior student in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Detail oriented and maintains organizational skills to support team tasks.
- Demonstrates problem-solving and analytical abilities in routine tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively and efficiently with the team.
- Ability to occasionally lift materials up to 25 lbs.
- Experience in a laboratory environment is an asset.
