ROLE OVERVIEW
Plan, schedule, and assist in the coordination of short to medium term maintenance for all mobile equipment on-site. Plan to Thiess standard or Original Equipment Manufacturer specifications (whichever is greater) to ensure the equipment fleet achieves maximum availability in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems
- Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems at the company’s facilities
- Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and provide guidance to industrial maintenance crews
- Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
- Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance
- Supervise technicians, technologists and review and approve, calculations and cost estimates.
- Asset cost control - perform regular audit on work order cost code allocation
- Team building - share the knowledge of Thiess standard and JDE expectation to ensure that the maintenance activities compliant with the policy
- Initiate the reliability program onsite through the establishment of reliability method:
- Oil sampling
- Equipment breakdown statistic
- Equipment, undercarriage and tire condition monitoring
- Equipment performance and optimization review, implement the findings to actual maintenance operation
- Build relationships with the supplier and make sure the proper support is delivered for Thiess Stobie project through timely manner parts delivery, technical support, and warranty process
- Prepare and build parts database
- Ensure that all the maintenance expenses align with the plant budget according to the tender and to avoid unnecessary / unbudgeted expenditure

JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Familiar with Office 365, including strong Excel skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A highly organized, motivated, self-starter, who can work with minimal supervision and put an emphasis on safety in the workplace
- Knowledge of practices, performance, measures, scheduling tools, and techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing, multi-disciplined, diverse team
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years in equipment planning, mining maintenance activities and/or equivalent industrial experience
- 5+ years’ experience in mobile equipment maintenance in an open mine site is required
- Proven ability to build relationships with suppliers/partners to support mining objectives
- Minimum 5 experience with planning using JD Edwards and Infomine is required
- Minimum 1 year of reporting experience using Power Bi
- Common core and supervisor training would be considered an asset
- Deep understanding of the relation between work order, inventory, and procurement module in JDE
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (hours may change and will be scheduled in response to operational requirements of the project)
