job purpose: This position is put in place to meet the objectives of increasing capability and loss elimination in the Processing Team at the fairlife Goodyear Plant.

The role’s primary responsibility is acting as a Senior Level Technician within the Processing Team. This entails performing activities for safety of team members and company equipment, successful production activities all through the conversion process, from product receiving to separation and filtration, batching and blending and pasteurization activities. The role also participates in training programs and SOP/Job Aid creation and maintenance, using CI tools such as SMED/VSM and Lean, leading or supporting training evolutions, and ensuring production meets all efficiency, quality and food safety requirements.

Incumbent will also have a sound understanding of inventory management, maintenance planning and operational maintenance procedures such as CILs, and AM. This person will facilitate and support post action CI activities and improvement plans. Additionally, this person will partner closely with the plant’s CI team in a support capacity for CI work within the Processing team.

 

duties and responsibilities:

· Focus of the position is problem elimination and loss prevention and this mindset permeates into all activities in the role.

· To build and define the equipment standards and work with team members to institutionalize them across all shifts.

· To identify, prioritize and eliminate process losses and lead discussion on losses and build a Top Three Plan for the month.

· Trains team members on orientation, basic and advanced level topics for machine operations, problem troubleshooting, production data tracking, analysis, and corrective actions, and basic CI items. Working with team leadership ensures employees are progressing toward training goals.

· Leads or supports CI activities for the Processing team in the form of developing problem statements, employing advanced analysis techniques to determine causal factors, and working through loss elimination activities in a team-based environment.

· Lead or supports validation and change management that come out of process improvement activities.

· To build the process capability & control using PQM/MU/SPC/RE methods

· Acts as a lead or support for RCA activities.

· Team member of the 90 Day Plan team for the department.

· Works with both Processing and Maintenance staff to define and create and monitor PMs.

· Has advanced working knowledge of equipment CL’s, CILs, AM and light maintenance and trains and deploys them throughout the team.

· Has advanced knowledge of and can support hands-on production activities from Raw Milk Receiving to UHT operation and Aseptic Tank filling.

· Serves as a back-up to the Shift Lead or Supervisor, as needed.

· Supports team engagement activities in a lead or supporting role.

· Sets the standard for safety behavior and advocates for a safe and incident free environment.

skills/qualifications required:

· At least ten (10) years of professional experience in beverage manufacturing operations, with a preference for dairy or brewed beverages in a facility with an annual production of at least 20MM annual cases, still or carbonated, and

· At least one (1) year of experience in a beverage manufacturing facility using a Continuous Improvement approach in a support role.

· Advancement to Sr. Level or Team Lead level with a demonstrated increase in responsibility in previous roles in a beverage manufacturing team.

· Bachelor of Science or Two-Year Technical Certification or Degree in Automotive, Marine, or other Industrial application is preferred.

· Previous dairy or carbonated soda or brewing liquid production experience is highly preferred.

· Has intermediate to advanced level people skills and is comfortable and effective when working in a team environment.

· Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.

· Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.

· Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

· Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

· Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

· Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
