The Job
You will manage a team of technicians and third party contract inspectors to carry out inspection of mechanical equipment in a safe and reliable manner to maintain Ambercycle’s continuous production, including daily activities, shutdown and turnaround maintenance. Perform inspections and reliability activities to ensure the plant’s static and rotating mechanical facilities are operated safely, in a stable manner, reliably and efficiently. 

Responsibilities

Quality Workforce
- Manage the QA/QC inspection section within the technical department to ensure all mechanical rotating and static equipment is mechanically sound and fit to operate safely until the next turnaround period without any unplanned plant shutdown.
- Represent technical department as the sole authority to approve/accept the completion of all repair/maintenance activities carried out on mechanical static and rotating equipment.
- Propose all mechanical activities to include in the next turnaround.
- Compile and submit a monthly Mean Time Between Repair (MTBR) of rotating equipment.
- Work closely with the rotating equipment engineer/technicians in maintenance department to achieve minimum rework on rotating equipment.
- Review the proposed mechanical activities as submitted by all departments for the planning and possible inclusion in the following turnaround activities. 
- Plan, witness, approve, accept and execute all inspections activities (ultrasonic, wet fluorescence magnetic particle test, rotating equipment vibration and alignment, clearances for all mechanical static/rotating equipment - vessel, pipelines, including tankages, heat exchangers, leak, PSV testing.
- Analyze all collected data to determine the corrosion and wear rate and make repair/replacement recommendations to be carried out in the subsequent turnaround.
- Ensure all planned training programs are carried out as scheduled.
- Carry out the annual performance appraisal program.
- Resolve all personnel conflicts through coaching and counseling.
- Ensure safety of subordinates, external parties (subcontractors, vendors, internship students, visitors, etc) who are under your supervision, as well as the safety of running equipment in order to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Environment, Health, Safety and Quality
- Participate in safety training.
- Communicate and enforce Ambercycle’s policies and safety regulations.
- Investigate and follow up on all incidents.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely.

Administration
- Monitor and approve overtime of technicians and ensure planned vacations are taken accordingly.
- Approve expense claims for technicians. Control non-volume related expenses below budget.
- Collate and monitor monthly absenteeism to minimize overtime.
