Technical stream includes roles which require the application of expertise within a narrow field of technology (e.g. platform architecture, cyber security, software programming) to achieve results. Results are mainly delivered through individual contirbution, not through managing others. Progression in these roles reflects an increasing depth of technical knowledge and skills.
A colleague at this level has in-depth knowledge and experience in a functional area. The colleague routinely applies subject matter knowledge to solve common business issues operating within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies. A colleague at this level handles most situations independently, receives minimal guidance, but will seek advice, guidance and support on more complex or non-routine topcis.

The colleague understands the overall nature of the business and the interdependencies between own and other functions.

Leaders at this level are accountable for performance and results in teams of less experienced professionals, frontline workers and admins, and will adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• TMS Configuration & Integration:
  • Analyze and configure TMS systems to meet specific operational needs across container drayage, intermodal, FTL, and LTL transportation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, tailored to these transportation modes.
  • Collaborate with business users to test, validate, and refine system configurations to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
• EDI Expertise:
  • Design and implement EDI/API solutions to enable seamless data exchange between TMS systems and external stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI/API-related issues to ensure smooth, accurate data flow, enhancing system reliability.
• System Optimization:
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of TMS architecture, data structures, and configuration options to improve system performance and functionality.
  • Stay up-to-date with system enhancements and updates, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with transportation management needs.
• Collaboration & Support:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members on TMS configurations and EDI/API integration.
  • Work closely with business users and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and optimization of TMS configurations.
• Problem-Solving & Documentation:
  • Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve configuration challenges.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all configurations, integrations, and system changes to ensure transparency and consistency.
• Risk Management & Security:
  • Identify potential risks to the TMS system and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan to minimize system downtime and data loss.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Follow security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure system integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data privacy standards.
