Corrosion Control Mech II. Identify and treat corrosion by chemical and/or mechanical means. Remove and/or paint aircraft.
Accountability
Perform all work-related actions as directed by management.
Follow instructions by work center shift lead, or above.
Ensure safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.
Address/approach customer in courteous and professional manner.
Address/approach co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
Maintain work center in a clean and orderly fashion.
Meet government and company license and/or qualification requirement(s).
Complete and comply with On the Job Training (OJT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste (HW), Tool Control Program (TCP) and Egress Familiarization, Program and all safety regulations by site, city, state and federal.
Qualify, perform and maintain collateral duty inspector (CDI) as required.
Qualify, perform and maintain engine turn qualification as required.
Lead in performing scheduled/unscheduled corrosion inspection(s) and treatment in accordance with technical manuals.
Lead in stripping and painting aircraft, support equipment and parts as required.
Lead in Disposing of spent chemicals/hazardous waste in accordance with government and company regulations.
Lead in the participation of towing of aircraft.
Complete maintenance action form(s) in NALCOMIS/OOMA and other records.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, required.
One (1) year experience in aircraft corrosion control, required.
Two (2) years of experience removing and applying aircraft paint and primer (e.g. conventional spray, airless spray, hot spray and/or high volume/low pressure spray).
Read and comply with verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Walk, stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods of time.
Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, carry, balance and reach above shoulder level.
Wear protective clothing or other safety equipment, required.
Handle required/approved hazardous material(s) as per material data safety (MSD).
Work environment of a standard shop and hangar to inclement weather and extreme heat.
Shift work.
Normal hearing, required.
Exposure to noise hazard.
Color vision, required.
Valid driver’s license, required.
Travel
• As required for periods up to, or past 90 days.
