A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The goal is to maintain the building & common areas to the best possible condition. This position will include leading plumbing maintenance at U-Haul’s corporate headquarters, with minimal travel. Travel to another location is a rare occurrence.
To meet the duties of this occupation, the Maintenance Technician must complete various tasks, such as:
- Install and repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes and urinals
- Soldering/Sweating pipes
- Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in plumbing work
- Helping in all maintenance areas
- Ensuring tools and equipment are in working order and keeping maintenance room in safe & clean conditions
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in commercial plumbing is a must
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to search and order parts needed
- Ability to work well within a team and alone
- Ability to coordinate and be hands on with various property care and maintenance tasks
- Willing to learn new skills
- Must be flexible to multi-task
- Must have a valid AZ driver’s license
- Able to adhere to company policies, procedures, and practices
