The Director of HCC Coding Operations Support is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, analytical certified coder to plan, forecast, and manage client-facing coding projects, and support day-to-day operations for our remote coding team, onshore and offshore.

As a Coding Operations Leader, you will:

  • Partner with Production and Quality operations on continuous improvement projects to ultimately improve our customer satisfaction
  • Respond to client needs and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Monitor coding projects to ensure that coders are making appropriate decisions and identify common themes in coding quality and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and provide feedback on coding trends and process issues
  • Define productivity and accuracy benchmarks, and ensure coding and auditing teams meet the expectations
  • Drive quality assurance and performance improvement activities including review of coder decisions and continuing coder education 
  • Partner with peers in other departments to achieve company goals, develop a mutual understanding of roles, and foster a positive work environment 
  • Keep up to date with current coding policies for ICD-10, Medicare Advantage, HHS (ACA) and other markets 
  • Partner with the client to ensure understanding of coding guidelines as well as provide feedback on guidelines and opportunities for coder improvement. 
  • Prepare and deliver timely project performance reports to HCC Coding leadership 
  • Act as a subject matter expert in coding working with product & engineering to develop best in class coding technology and coding Apps
  • Engage with National Health Plan leaders to strategize on Risk Adjustment program improvement
  • Oversee metrics for large projects embracing a data driven culture for success

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum Associates degree, preferably in a healthcare related field 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in a healthcare related field 
  • Minimum 8 years of Risk Adjustment coding experience 
  • Minimum 5 years managing coders or auditors 
  • Current CCS, CRC or CPC accreditation minimum required 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment, CDI, Medicaid, and Commercial Risk Adjustment
  • Familiarity with HIPAA patient privacy requirements 
  • Experience in product development, risk adjustment coding Apps and technology
  • RADV audit experience leading HHS IVA and/or CMS RADV audit teams
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Keen attention to detail and expertise with Risk Adjustment coding data and results

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $145,000 - $185,000.
