Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Interior/Tire Mechanic. The candidate should be able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines within a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate should have the ability to install, repair, adjust and disassemble all interior related systems and components, including but not limited to seat and steering wheel modifications, air conditioning modifications, and electrical wiring of related interior systems. The individual in this position is responsible for the overall interior safety and comfort of the driver, therefore will be responsible for making any at the track modifications necessary. Other responsibilities of this position include maintaining the driver apparel, maintaining necessary driver safety equipment, ensuring the hauler is fully stocked with interior component replacement parts and necessary equipment, and participating in the final safety inspection of the car prior to departure for the track. The individual is also responsible for the overall management and analysis of tires, including but not limited to reading and carefully recording air pressure, temperature, and wear immediately after the tires are removed from the car. The candidate will be responsible for organizing and managing tires for tests and race events. The successful individual must be able to communicate well and work closely with shop and track peers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Responsible for inspecting and maintaining driver compartment and race car interior as it related to electrical components and driver personal safety equipment
Maintains the driver apparel and necessary driver safety equipment
Ensures the hauler is fully stocked with interior component replacement parts and necessary equipment.
Responsible for overall management and analysis of tires.
Organizes and manages tires for test and race events
Participates in the final safety inspection of the car prior to departure for the track

Skills & Abilities:
Minimum three years’ experience in a related position
Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, thorough knowledge of tires and tire analysis
Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, thorough knowledge of race car components and car systems is required
Prior race experience preferred
Must be familiar with NASCAR Technical inspection process and racetrack procedures
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact well with others
Must be able to travel extensively and on short notice as needed
Must be a team player, be able to work a flexible schedule and have a high level of integrity
Must possess personal tools and equipment
