About the Role: The Manager of Compliance is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks for the company. This involves close collaboration with internal management teams to manage company policies, implement an effective compliance program, conduct regular internal audits and monitor carrier performance metrics. The ideal candidate is a team player, eager to drive efficiency and consistency, and seeks to lead by example. The ultimate goal is to ensure that Flock operates within legal and regulatory frameworks while fostering a culture of compliance and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the carrier vetting program to ensure they meet Flock’s safety and compliance standards.
- Design and implement Flock Freight’s carrier performance program and carrier score carding.
- Manage and audit carrier contracts on a regular basis, to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Regularly engage with carriers to guarantee they provide safe and compliant services to the company.
- Manage the onboarding process using the Highway carrier onboarding software.
- Improve top of funnel carrier identity verification product and processes.
- Lead initiatives and projects to drive the department towards operational excellence.
- Focus on automating processes and increasing efficiency within the Compliance team.
- Develop and mentor the team on standard operating procedures to ensure consistency.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with all teams within the Risk Management department to ensure alignment and support other functions where applicable.
- Report new areas of opportunity for process improvements to Risk Management leadership.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of proven experience in a compliance or quality assurance role in freight brokerage
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management, or related field
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Expertise in managing contracts
- Detailed knowledge of legal requirements and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proven experience as a collaborative team player
Compensation
The expected range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 per year. This range reflects typical earning potential in this role. When determining an offer, we take into account a variety of factors that are important in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill sets; experience and tenure; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is based on market data. Salary bands may, in some circumstances, be adjusted to a different geographic area depending on the candidate's position and location.

Our policy is that we target candidates local to one of Flock Freight’s headquarters locations (San Diego and Chicago) and ask that employees work in-office.
