LOCATION:  Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS:  40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: $58,916 - $63,499 per year

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the college.  This role involves preparing and analyzing financial entries and reports, maintaining records of assets, liabilities, income, and expense, and other financial activities.  The Accountant ensures compliance with college policies, accounting standards, and regulations.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Organize, prepare, and update basic financial statements, monthly and year-end journal entries, ledgers, and reports for various financial needs to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial data, reports and records, identify discrepancies, investigate, recommend, and implement basic solutions as needed.
  • Create and manage budgets for related funds (e.g., capital, fiscal agents, financial aid, etc.) and prepare budget modifications as needed.
  • Advise, train, and answer questions to college stakeholders of financial processes and procedures.
  • Complete annual audit requests, such as schedules, analysis, and related financial footnotes.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum one to three years of occupational experience involving the creation and maintenance of accurate and detailed accounting records.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational institution or a nonprofit organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, complex formulas).
  • Experience with Workday.
