The Industrial Sales Specialist will drive growth by managing and expanding the dealer territory, engaging with existing, potential, and new customers and channel partners. This dynamic role involves pinpointing and evaluating business development opportunities that align with our industry goals. You’ll collaborate closely with Finning sales teams and the in-territory Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Industrial Service Dealers (ISD) to prepare and refine compelling business cases and play a key role in implementation planning.Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Manage key accounts and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Customer Engagement: Represent Finning in customer meetings, presentations, and seminars to support strategic initiatives.
- Industry Participation: Engage in industry associations to stay updated on market trends.
- Business Development: Identify, research, prepare, and execute business development opportunities.
- Networking: Build and maintain a network of potential business partners, including customers, competitors, suppliers, OEMs, and trade associations.
- Opportunity Assessment: Collect and assess development opportunities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and alliances.
- Business Case Preparation: Develop business cases for potential opportunities, including projected value, costs, SWOT analysis, and market overview.
- Revenue and Cost Management: Oversee revenue and cost management to ensure financial targets are met.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years technical/parts experience in heavy equipment industry
- Knowledge of the western Canadian Industrial power systems industry considered an asset
- Minimum of 5+ years of sales/marketing experience.
- Proven ability to work with employees and business leaders at all levels.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Understanding of financial management and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Experience in employee performance evaluation and improvement planning.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Broad technical expertise in heavy industry markets relevant to Finning.
- Knowledge of new equipment sales and product support opportunities.
- Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of marketing principles and practices.
- Exceptional leadership, motivational, presentation, and facilitation skills.
