Salary Range: SP1, Level 3, $60,160- $75,200 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Coordinator, Applications Systems and Data – Hybrid
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator, Application Systems & Data to join our Regulatory Applications branch at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER). In this role, you will play a key part in coordinating information and data requests, supporting branch initiatives, and measuring their success. With a unique perspective on the branch’s operations, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement efforts and assist with project management as needed. Additionally, you will support business continuity planning and handle action requests, ensuring the branch remains responsive and efficient in achieving its goals.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Identify emerging issues and opportunities that support the branch’s strategic direction, identify inefficiencies, and coordinate work to address opportunities within the branch to ensure branch business goals are met.
Coordinate and fulfill action requests to the branch originating from the Government of Alberta, AER Board, CEO’s and COO’s offices, and VP’s office.
Assist with measuring and reporting of branch work, including responding and providing solutions to routine and ad hoc data requests.
Troubleshoot application system problems and malfunctions. Understand business needs for applications systems and liaise with IT/developers to ensure AER systems meet business needs.
Liaise with people across the branch and around the organization to ensure applications are processed smoothly, efficiently, and on time.
Gather relevant information and make decisions on Public Lands assignment applications, and support other applications related work such as gathering information for application reviews and decisions, as needed.
What we’re looking for in you:
A degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as project management, business analysis, facilitation, petroleum technology, or a related discipline.
2+ years of experience in an energy or regulatory environment with a focus on analytics, project work (leading projects), continuous improvement initiatives, and/or planning.
Change management training or project management certification is considered an asset.
Ability to lead by influence and meet tight deadlines while managing a wide variety of tasks and requests.
Strategic and critical thinking to analyze issues and propose solutions.
Work independently or with staff and leaders in multiple disciplines across all levels of the organization.
