Product Manager (Logistics)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Transportation Management for Shippers application that this role will support help support has a longstanding record of success by adhering to this strategy. As a Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in harmonizing the priorities across these pillars and translating them into features and functionalities that deliver value to both our current and future clients.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Oversee the execution of long-term product initiatives and short-term feature deployments throughout the lifecycle of concept to deployment.
- Participate in discovery sessions with the customers to understand the business problems and translate that into detailed feature specifications, acceptance use cases, epics and stories, and other artifacts that Development needs.
- Study competition and analyze customer and industry trends to influence strategic direction of the product and help sales and marketing efforts.
- Maintain high level of engagement with customers to understand their business needs and gain their acceptance on the product roadmap and capabilities.
- Identify the user experience needs and work with UX designers to deliver an engaging user experience.
- Collaborate with the team of technical writers to create product documentation and other artifacts that are needed by all stake holders in the company and customers.
- Host internal stakeholder knowledge transfer sessions with operations, professional services, sales and marketing for deployed and/or roadmapped features.
- Other tasks and activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or business administration. A post-graduate degree is a plus.
- > 4 years as a Business Analyst/Associate PM or related field or 2 years as a Product Manager in a software company delivering logistics or other enterprise solutions.
- Familiar with scrum and with agile methodologies.
- Familiar with enterprise grade software product independently.
- Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with various applications leveraged by Product Management: Aha!, Jira, Confluence.
- Experience in one or more of these Transportation Management applications is preferred: SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, MercuryGate, Uber Freight TMS, TMC, Manhattan.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- General office environment and responsibilities requiring:
- Extensive use of the computer which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday.
- Placing and receiving phone calls.
- Occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
- May require some travel if needed.
