Do you have senior level experience in capital project & construction management, specializing in electrical & instrumentation systems? If so, Suncor is looking for a construction coordinator to join the Syncrude Business Unit Construction team (BUC). This role provides exposure to a wide range of capital projects within the Oil Sands industry and allows for a well-balanced Field vs Office based work week. Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of experience in a heavy industrial construction environment
  • University degree, trade and/or certification is considered an asset
  • Experience in construction coordination of cross-functional projects, varying in size, scope, and complexity (Oil Sands Brown and/or Green Field Projects)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all contractor safety performance indicators. Required to oversee safety planning into execution applying hazard control change management as needed.
  • Collaborate within an integrated project team. Possess entry to mid level knowledge in all functions of a project team.
  • Provide constructability inputs & feasibility assessments to support business case & concept select activities.
  • Support & provide fit for purpose solutions to engineering through front end & detail engineering.
  • Oversee construction planning & scheduling deliverables. Capable of large-scale project integration with other site stakeholders.
  • Deliver & steward to project key performance indicators to project team & customer in all phases of project. Strong communication skills required.
  • Capable of managing & holding construction suppliers accountable to project commitments
  • Strong problem solver. Capable of removing barriers through technical skill set or networking with team members.
  • Leading people and teams, providing feedback, directing, and delegating work

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of the Syncrude Mildred Lake location in Fort McMurray
  • The shift schedule is a 4 days on / 3 days off rotation (10-hour shifts, nights as needed)
  • This position is safety sensitive
