Your role

The LOD1 NFR Internal Control Specialist is not a risk, process, control, or policy owner. However, the LOD1 NFR Internal Control Specialist acts as a delegated person to them and as the translator of LOD1 requirements to the business and making them understand their risk related responsibilities. He/she gathers all necessary information from them to provide judgement of LOD1 performance to local management. The LOD1 NFR Internal Control Specialist, however, supports the business and advises on risk related activities to ensure compliance with the requirements set up in relevant rules, policies, and procedures.
 

Your primary responsibilities are:

Implementation of a 1st line internal control strategy that aligns with the group policies, local governance, and ECB regulations and which entails:

  • Implementation and maintenance of a process-, risk- and policy ownership register

  • Raising awareness by provision of trainings to 1st line staff to increase risk management maturity level and to ensure risks are properly managed.

  • Monitor LOD3 (internal audit) recommendation implementation and liaise with local management, Ayvens LOD1 internal control team and internal audit to guarantee timely implementation of mitigating actions

  • Cooperation with both business lines (LOD1), Non Financial Risk Managers on LOD1 and 2, as well as the entity’s management in completing common goals

Policies

  • Acquaintance with relevant risk related policies and ensuring compliance with these rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Animate and support business lines performing internal controls in a timely and high qualitative manner.

  • Identify policy ownership and allocate internal control domains to owners within the business lines.

Control Testing and Monitoring activities

  • Identify and monitoring of risks and recording them in the global GRC tool (or individual applications until final integration of activities and systems).

  • Internal Control Manager

  • Deployment of all obligatory and business line related controls according to currently applicable procedure set by Ayvens within the current and future internal control systems.

  • Distribution of controls to the employees, ensuring that the controls are performed properly and on time, the summary reports and action plans are implemented and followed-up

  • Follow-up of corrective measures for the detected abnormalities

  • Training of new employees regarding the Managerial Supervision methodology

  • Compiling of necessary reports to Ayvens SA

  • Periodical reporting

  • Follow-up of internal and external audit missions

  • Support the business in developing action plans to mitigate risks.

GRC tool ownership

  • Technical and administrative GRC tool business ownership

  • Implementation and maintenance of a list of incident owners in each department

  • Provision of trainings to 1st line staff in the GRC tool

Reporting

  • Support and develop LOD1 related performance indicators.

  • Provision of analytical input to 2nd line Risk Management

  • Support in the preparation of the Entity Risk Committees (ERC) and various other Risk Committees such as the ICCC representing the 1st line perspective

Your profile

  • University degree in a Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration or Risk Management

  • Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in Risk Management, Audit, BPM, Internal Control or Compliance

  • Background in banking, leasing or big 4 companies

  • Risk Management frameworks (e.g. BASEL)

  • Advanced user of MS Excel

  • Gathering data from databases

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) whereas the local language is an additional asset
