Summary:
This position provides accurate and prompt drug therapy as well as current drug information and drug utilization reviews. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy Operations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Manages daily activities at designated site
- Maintains all necessary logs
- Stocks drug orders and/or supplies as required
- Monitors drug inventory to ensure the department meets inventory goals
- Orders drug inventory as required
- Effectively communicate with infusion nurses and physician nurses to verify doses, drug information, availability and interactions.
- Engage with PhRMA representatives regarding FDA updates and changes in drug therapy as needed
- Evaluate and dispense investigational drug products via research protocols when Research Pharmacist is not available
- Respects the dignity and confidentiality of patients.
- Maintains a good attendance record and report on time for work.
- Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
- Complies with clinic safety policy and procedures.
- Possesses good communication skills that lend to a team oriented work environment.

- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Confirms correct dosing and appropriateness of therapy.
- Evaluate and verify the physician's plan of care, treatment plan, drugs, doses, and labs for therapeutic appropriateness
- Prepares chemotherapy and other IV drugs for administration as required.
- Prepacks some drugs for immediate use as required
- Restocks and audits drug inventory as required
- Provides drug information on drug therapy, dosing, interactions, stability, new drugs and other treatment modalities.
- Maintains narcotic inventory and logs.
- Assists with research drugs, maintains and verifies research logs, verifies inventory, confirms treatment when necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision Provided by this Position:
- Guides the daily activities of pharmacy technicians, students, and/or trainees in the assigned work area.
Physical Demands/Conditions:
- Typical clinical environment with moderate noise level
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit and use hand/wrist, climb or balance, talk, hear, see for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work with fumes or airborne particles, risk of electric shock and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Some travel may be required.
