It enables us to expand on our work across many platforms and bring more of our SEO ideas into practice. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to manage and support Yoast's ICT infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production environments. You will ensure the availability and smooth functioning of our websites and environments, while also providing technical support to the team. As a senior team member, you'll monitor systems, escalate issues, coach junior members, and maintain strong communication across teams. Also, you will lead through influence and be on voluntary standby for service interruptions outside office hours.

How you will make your mark:

Managing, monitoring, and providing daily ICT Infrastructure and Development support to staff for:

CI/CD-pipelines and build these with the BI, QA and Development teams.

Data Platforms.

Security risks and research these.

Test/Staging and Production environments.

Automation of the release and development process.

The Yoast websites and associated infrastructure.

The Development Environments/Infrastructure.

Regarding the infrastructures/systems/platforms managed by DevOps:

Ensure correct functioning and availability.

Fulfilling a monitoring, coordinating, escalating and direct hands-on role (with other teams/parties) in solving and preventing problems.

Monitoring and evaluating parties with whom we work together.

Monitoring and evaluating Service Level Agreements (SLAs)/agreements.

Calling parties to account on (un)achieved SLAs/agreements.

Research better alternatives for parties that do not (regularly) comply with/achieve SLAs/agreements.

“Senior” responsibilities:

Maintain multiple lines of communication within and outside the team.

Maintain an overview of the DevOps team's work.

Take on the training/coaching of team members.

Is on a voluntary basis standby for service interruptions outside office hours.

Who you are & what you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum of preferably a Technical HBO education. However experience and/or if sufficient retrained should be leading.

HBO (Higher professional education/University of Applied Sciences) working and thinking level or WO (University) work and thinking level.

Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience with ICT operations, DevOps and/or as a Developer.

Minimum of 5 years' experience with automation of pipelines through scripting, automation platforms with for example Linux, Bash, CI/CD platforms such as Github Actions and/or Jenkins.

Experience with containerization tools and management such as Docker, Containerd, Kubernetes or Rancher Desktop

Experience in ICT operations, DevOps and/or as a Software Developer.

Programming/scripting experience with languages such as Python, Lunix BASH and/or JavaScript.

Knowledge of and experience with monitoring tools such as for example Zabbix, Prometheus or Elasticsearch.

Can switch contexts easily and has little trouble keeping multiple balls in the air.

Communication skills and possesses a sense of responsibility and ownership.

Knowledge of the standard MS Office applications.

Thorough hardware and software knowledge.

Technical understanding/background.

A collaboration and partnership focus across functions.

A strong execution and implementation ability in a complex business environment.

A proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects.
