We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager with a strong focus on sales. The ideal candidate will share our values, bring infectious energy, and have a proven background in the utility industry.
What your impact will be:
Sales Development:
- Research and identify potential sales opportunities through various channels, including partner networks, RFPs, and proactive sales prospecting.
- Create and manage a detailed sales funnel to support monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and forecasts.
- Develop and present detailed quotes and proposals to new prospects and existing customers, managing the proposal lifecycle from start to finish.
Product Demonstration:
- Execute multiple product demonstrations, both in-person and remotely, showcasing Silverblaze product offerings effectively.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish, build, and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key stakeholders in the utility sector.
- Develop and implement customer engagement strategies to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Sales Cycle Management:
- Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing, ensuring all stages are meticulously documented and tracked.
- Lead complex contract negotiations with clients at all seniority levels, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements aligned with Silverblaze goals.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure client satisfaction and seamless service delivery.
Reporting:
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior leadership, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
What we are looking for:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with a significant portion in the utility sector.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of the utility industry and its unique challenges.
- Strong business acumen and experience in developing new sales opportunities.
- Proven customer engagement experience with a track record of building strong client relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to close complex deals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present confidently to senior executives.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously.
- Experience with utility software and implementations.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify key market trends.
- Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 75% in North America and the Caribbean to meet with clients, attend conferences, and participate in industry events. A valid passport is required for the travel.
