POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the local accounting according MEXGAAP, billing,
travel expenses review, federal taxes calculation, and analysis for a segment of the company’s Client projects. This position will report to the Accounting Manager, Mexico and will interact with Project Managers on a regular basis.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Entry of daily journal entries, collections, and payments in the 3 entities in LATAM.
- Entry of accruals, depreciation, and amortization.
- Bank reconciliations and accounting accounts.
- Scheduling of accounts payable and review of travel expenses.
- Determinate federal taxes such as Income Tax, VAT Tax, and taxes on payroll and Social Security.
- Supporting Project Accountants with budget maintenance.
- Researching sales tax information and coordinating sales tax audits, as needed.
- Reconciling corporate AmEx purchases.
- Responsible for monthly account reconciliations for intercompany transactions.
- Responsible to generate TSA projects and renewal billings.
- Other projects/assignments as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field
- Four-plus years of accounting experience
- Strong comprehension of accounting theory
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and rapidly changing organization
- Detail orientation and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in Spanish and possesses conversational English language skills
- Ability to travel 10% of the time, primarily domestic travel with the possibility of international travel; however, this could change based on company’s impending business needs.
