Position Summary:

Work Management Specialist I

This position is the learner level of the Metering Specialist classification hierarchy. This position is responsible for providing metering support for Metering Services, Customer Experience & Services, and Customer Delivery, while working within the parameters of established processes and standards.  This position is accountable for providing accurate and timely work results which support safety, reliability, and cost management while providing quality customer service.

Work Management Specialist II

This position is the intermediate level of the Metering Specialist classification hierarchy.  Employees at this level solve more complex problems.  This position is responsible for providing technical and analytical support for Metering Services, Customer Experience & Services, and Customer Delivery.  Individual will be expected to work within the parameters of the established processes and standards while using independent judgment and initiative to complete assigned tasks.  This position is accountable for providing accurate and timely work results which support safety, reliability, cost management, while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Build knowledge through training of metering processes

  • Develop intermediate understanding of navigating Work Orders in Maximo

  • Maintain intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products(I.E. Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Increase user proficiency of Microsoft Office Products

  • Use available tools and systems to efficiently execute processes

  • Ensure metering updates and corrections are completed in a timely manner

  • SS9 order dispatching to field service reps

  • Create appropriate BPEM in BDEx for tasks that require action by other internal groups(I.E. Customer Delivery, Revenue Services, Accounts Receivables, etc.)

  • Utilize analytical skills for complex metering scenarios

  • Review metering reports and perform follow-up tasks as needed

  • Provide preliminary research for metering related issues and inquiries

  • Assist with comprehensive research and root cause analysis for metering related issues and inquiries

  • Take ownership of issues and problems until metering tasks are resolved, requesting assistance as needed

  • Remain professional and courteous in all contact and communications

  • Maintain excellent communication skills to metering services, management, and customers

  • Collaborate with other work groups to ensure desired customer experience

  • Follow record retention guidelines (as they apply)

  • Maintain confidential company/employee information in a professional and discreet manner

  • Work in partnership with leadership to identify training needs or growth opportunities

Cost Management

  • Ensure timesheet is accurately recorded in time management system in accordance with payroll guidelines

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and/or reconcile company credit card

Reliability

  • Achieve acceptable levels of availability during normal work schedule

  • Perform storm duties assigned according to storm response level

EE Engagement/Safety

  • Support Human Performance safety culture through active participation in safety meetings

  • Follow ergonomic and office safety guidelines

  • Support corporate initiatives

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development

Basic/Required Qualifications

Work Management Specialist I

  • High School/GED degree

Work Management Specialist II

  • High School/GED degree

  • 2 years related work experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and BDex

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Possesses a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software

  • Possesses a general knowledge of applications used in Delivery Operations

  • Demonstrates good judgment in decision making

  • Exhibits effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborates effectively in a team environment

  • Works independently in resolving problems

  • Exhibits flexibility and dependability during normal work schedule and after hours emergency storm restoration

  • Prioritizes work effectively

  • Supports changing work environments, processes, and policies

  • Proficient in system applications used in Delivery Operations

  • Knowledge of local ordinances, permits, and inspections

  • Previous customer service experience

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
