• From $108,139 to $117,519 (HEW Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
• Full-time, continuing role. Hybrid working arrangement with on-campus days at the University's beautiful Wallumattagal Campus on Dharug country in North Ryde.

The Role

Sitting within the Group Marketing unit, Macquarie University’s Communications team is responsible for protecting and enhancing the University’s reputation by amplifying our achievements in education, research and health, and driving engagement with our communities both in Australia and around the world.

This role will support a small number of Offices within the University, including Alumni, Philanthropy and Human Resources, to realise their strategic objectives through the planning and delivery of engaging communications on earned, owned and internal channels.

The role provides expert communication advice to University leaders and works with other members of Group Marketing to deliver a holistic marketing communications service to stakeholders.  

About you

We are looking for an experienced, organised and motivated communications professional with outstanding knowledge of communications strategy and planning. You will have a flair for written communication, experience in crafting engaging communications campaigns and be a great influencer and relationship builder.

Experience in internal communications and/or change communications would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the higher education sector.

  • Expert writing and editing skills across a range of communications channels as well as expertise in writing for a range of diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a full service, in-house communications function including working with team members in high performing teams.
  • Experience in building relationships and influencing senior management teams providing counsel across a range of communications issues.
  • Experience in communications strategy planning and implementation communications across earned, owned and internal communications channels.
  • Knowledge of digital communications platforms and tools, media engagement and internal communications.
