The Department Coordinator III coordinates the administrative functions of the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health in the School of Public Health and Information Sciences. Provides staff support to the Chair and faculty of the department. Edit reports, correspondence, publications, and other materials as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Attend department meetings and keep minutes.
Manage and coordinate Chair and faculty calendars and travel arrangements.
Direct and coordinate activities of MPH accelerated and concentration programs, MS and PhD programs including recruitment activities and plans.
Review, process and distribute applications; answer inquiries and maintain correspondence with applicants and students.
Maintain and distribute schedules; order books and supplies; maintain up-to-date files on current students; make travel arrangements for students; monitor and assist faculty in the development of programs, budgets and expenses as needed.
Coordinate meetings and special events, making arrangements for speakers, food and facilities as needed.
Provide other assistance as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous office experience in an academic setting and familiarity with the University of Louisville’s systems, policies, and procedures.
Competencies
Excellent written and telephone communication skills, knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and possess professional demeanor and social skills. Be flexible, strive for service excellence and be easy to work with and pleasant to faculty, students, and co-workers.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$27.85Target Compensation Minimum:
$18.56Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
