Availability: Full-time with an ability to work mornings, afternoons, overnights, holidays, and occasional weekends. 

Reporting to the Room Manager, the Seasonal Microtesting and Batch Coordinator collects and prepares factory-wide product samples to be sent to the laboratory for testing. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and prepare samples in DairyFresh to be sent to the laboratory for micro testing.  
  • Record micro test frequency for each completed batch of mixes according to the testing schedule issued by compliance. 
  • Record failed micro tests in the Micro Testing Log and ensure that the logs are all accurate and up to date
  • Collect samples factory wide and record the chain of custody for each sample that is being sent to the lab. 
  • Order coolers and ice packs from the lab and coordinate pick up schedules with the lab when needed. 
  • Communicate to other production rooms for any updates on pick up schedules or micro testing/sampling information.
  • Quality check each barrel of mixes before sending it to the floor for filling
  • Fill in, copy and print the production order sheets for each mix, give the completed sheets to leadership in order of priority filling when possible
  • Shred formulas; lock in-progress mixes in the cabinet at the end of each shift
  • Summary of the weeks quality concerns to be discussed with Level 3 compounders minimum of once a week
  • Communicate with leadership about mix statuses and ETAs for completion to work with planning to fulfill orders in priority
  • Fill in the dairy mix log and priority list as often as possible (hourly) with mix statuses, routes, ETAs, material issues, sample frequency to keep the room up to date
  • Pick raw materials used in each mix as often as possible to ensure live, up to date/hour picking
  •  Count and weigh raw materials as they’re consumed for the week
  • Weigh and Report as finished (RAF) completed mixes for each day
  • Organize IB stickers and prepare sample jars and production orders
  • Scrap expired produce from the fridge in absence of designated staff
  • Manage inventory, order and organize picklists when materials are missing or short, referencing AX to double check ECs and other various materials before mixes are compounded in absence of Inventory Controller. 
  • Material transfers between departments when necessary, AX journals
  • Create PJs and mix orders in AX for extra mix from batches
  • Pull in raw material skids and organize when applicable in absence of designated staff
  • Scrap mixes when there are issues, log, separate and fill in destruction paperwork
  • Assist in pouring jellies/naked shower gels when compounded, clean and dismantle unifillers and kettles
  • Set-up for jellies during slow periods and assist on the floor when there is no work in the compounding area
  • Assist with all areas of compounding, i.e. produce prep, juicing, cleaning, weighing infusions etc.
  • Attend test batch reviews with designated quality approver for new or reformulated products
  • Meet with Vancouver over phone to go over issues as a proxy
  • Discuss any quality issues or machinery problems to management

Who you are (qualifications):

Required:

  • Current LUSH employee
  • Experience working in manufacturing and understanding of quality of mixes
  • Proficient in AX and experience with ERP/TMS/WMS 
  • Self-directed and driven to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and resourceful when dealing with issues and challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with others
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure and dynamic environment 
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with micro testing
  • Understanding of COC documentation 
  • Experience uses handheld devices
