Clinical Nurse Manager - RN - Neonatal ICU- Full Time- Evening

As a 58-bed Level IV tertiary NICU, we care for newborns who require the highest level of neonatal intensive care including HIE requiring total body cooling, extremely low birth weight premature infants, newborns with complex surgical conditions and neonates with complicated respiratory disorders that might need ECMO. Our Level IV NICU has one of the lowest chronic lung disease rates in the whole country and our center has a world renowned NICU comfort care program as well being a fetal surgery center for neonates with neurological conditions like myelomeningocele. As a magnet designated children's hospital, we take pride in our highly skilled clinical nurses who offer the most current and evidence-based family centered care to our tiny patients.

The Clinical Manager assumes first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care on an assigned shift. Facilitates efficient and cost effective daily operations of the unit in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. Promotes a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Patient Care Director, participates in the establishment of unit short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospitals overall strategic goals. Is accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements.

This is a full-time, evening shift position located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Leadership experience

  • At least 3 years Level IV Neonatal ICU experience

  • Masters in Nursing or related field.

  • National Certification

Required Criteria:

  • A minimum of two years NICU experience

  • Demonstrated leadership competencies

  • Clinical expertise within field of specialty

  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles

  • Effective Interpersonal communication skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain)

  • BCLS and NRP
