Clerk- Inventory Control (PR)

The Opportunity:

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for coordinating the movement of commodity products and specialty components to support manufacturing and subcontracting operations across the AFH supply chain. This role works closely with Procurement, Planning, and Warehouse teams to execute daily MRP transactions, manage material transfer orders, and maintain inventory accuracy using SAP and EWM systems.
 

Key responsibilities include supporting inventory control processes, generating metric reports, and performing administrative tasks that ensure smooth and compliant operations. The Inventory Specialist plays a key role in maintaining data integrity, optimizing inventory flow, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily inventory transactions including material transfers, expired items, expedites, excess and obsolete inventory, and delivery date adjustments.
  • Provide inventory status updates and feedback to buyers; generate reports to support inventory scorecards and monthly metric reviews.
  • Perform ERP system updates using SAP and EWM, ensuring master data accuracy in accordance with AFH master data policies.
  • Lead the Excess & Obsolete (E&O) process, identifying materials for return, disposal, or resale.
  • Represent the Inventory Management team in daily tiered site meetings, providing operational updates.
  • Organize and facilitate weekly MRB (Material Review Board) meetings in collaboration with Procurement.
  • Follow established workflows and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support inventory and warehouse operations.
     

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or Mathematics preferred or equivalent/applicable experience
  • APICS/CPIM certification desirable

Knowledge skills and abilities

  • Experience with Inventory Control Systems
  • Proficiency working with SAP, preferable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365,
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision and ability to understand and complete projects and tasks
  • Ability to get along well with others in a team setting
