Cleanroom and ESD Specialist Staff Sr

Purpose Statement: The Cleanroom and ESD Specialist Staff Sr leads, develops, and implements contamination control strategies and ESD prevention programs. The role manages all cleanroom and ESD operations within the region to ensure compliance with regulatory and international standards. This position is vital for maintaining product quality, integrity, and builds customers confidence in Plexus’s products and services.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Contamination Control & Cleanroom Management: Oversee cleanroom operations, developing and maintaining cleaning protocols, monitoring environmental parameters, managing cleanroom validation and certification..

  • ESD Program Management: Is responsible for establishing, implementing, and auditing ESD control programs, performing facility audits, managing the selection and testing of ESD-safe equipment, and investigating and resolving ESD-related issues.

  • Policy, Leadership and Training: Is responsible for creating and maintaining SOPs, developing and delivering specialized training to engineers and technicians, ensuring audit-readiness of processes and supporting compliance reports.

  • Continuous Improvement:  Is responsible for leading initiatives to enhance cleanroom efficiency and ESD protection

  • Troubleshooting and resolving contamination or ESD events, and staying updated on industry standards, technologies, and best practices.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; 

  • Proven experience working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment. Experience in a managerial or senior engineering role with responsibilities in contamination control and/or ESD management.

  • Experience in the semiconductor, electronics, or medical device industries is a significant advantage.

  • Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of cleanroom standards (ISO 14644, GMP) and ESD standards (ANSI/ESD S20.20, IEC 61340-5-1)
