The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of Evotec’s leadership engine. As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will serve as a trusted strategic and operational partner, amplifying the CEO’s impact and ensuring that leadership priorities are executed with focus and precision.

You will connect strategy to execution — orchestrating key initiatives, supporting decision-making, and driving alignment across the Management Board. While ensuring operational excellence within the CEO Office, you’ll also act as a strategic integrator across Transformation, Finance, Operations, and People to keep the organisation focused on what matters most.

This role offers unparalleled exposure to enterprise-level strategy, governance, and transformation, making it ideal for someone who combines strategic insight, organisational discipline, and interpersonal influence in equal measure.

Whether you view this as a launchpad into senior leadership or a long-term strategic operator role, this position offers exceptional exposure, influence, and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO to define, prioritise, and execute high-impact initiatives that advance Evotec’s strategic agenda.

  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and ensure consistent follow-through across functions.

  • Shape and prepare strategic materials, presentations, and decision briefs for the CEO, Management Board, and Supervisory Board.

  • Analyse data and insights to identify key risks and opportunities and support informed decision-making.

  • Drive the rhythm of the CEO Office by aligning governance calendars, milestones, and key leadership engagements with business priorities.

  • Orchestrate Management Board and Supervisory Board meetings, offsites, and strategic reviews — including agenda design, content preparation, and follow-up.

  • Partner with the CFO, COO, CSO, and CPO to ensure alignment and collaboration across the Board.

  • Serve as the connective link between the CEO and internal or external stakeholders — ensuring clear, consistent, and transparent communication.

  • Manage requests for CEO engagement with discretion and professionalism, maintaining focus on strategic priorities.

  • Support CEO communications and messaging to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact across the organisation.

  • Ensure efficient coordination of the CEO’s agenda and commitments through existing support structures.

  • Oversee smooth execution of executive logistics, including calendar, travel, reimbursement, and related processes.

  • Maintain clarity and prioritisation across incoming requests, correspondence, and follow-ups.

  • Track progress on Board and CEO actions, ensuring accountability, transparency, and follow-through.

  • Continuously enhance processes and workflows within the CEO Office to improve efficiency and responsiveness.

  • Work closely with the Head of Transformation to support planning, governance, and execution of Evotec’s transformation programme.

  • Ensure Management Board visibility, engagement, and alignment across major enterprise initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Several years experience in management consulting, strategic planning, corporate development, or executive operations within complex, matrixed organisations (ideally in biotech, pharma, or life sciences).

  • Proven ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels, balancing vision with disciplined execution.

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with experience managing complex executive deliverables.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities; adept at translating complexity into actionable insight.

  • High integrity, discretion, and judgment in managing sensitive information.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MA, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strategic thinker with operational discipline and attention to detail.

  • Influences without authority; builds trust and alignment across senior levels.

  • Calm, resilient, and proactive in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.

  • Courage to challenge, simplify, and drive focus on outcomes that matter.
