Chief of Staff — Coval
TL;DR:
Coval is the platform for simulating and evaluating voice and chat agents. We’ve raised a $4.8M seed round, 10x’d revenue in just 2 months, and are seeing explosive demand from enterprises who need automated agent testing and reliability infrastructure. To accelerate our growth, we’re looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founders and shape how Coval scales — across GTM, operations, product, hiring, and strategic execution.
So…What’s Coval all about?
No one knows exactly what an agentic future will look like — but it’s clear AI agents aren’t going away. Coval is building the infrastructure that powers that future.
Today, anyone can build and deploy an AI agent. But building reliable agents is the real challenge. As enterprises adopt AI across support, sales, and operations, one truth has become increasingly obvious: rigorous testing, benchmarking, and reliability infrastructure will define which agents succeed in production — and which don’t.
Coval is the platform that empowers companies to not only create agents that delight customers, but deploy them with confidence. This is just the beginning of the AI-agent era, and evaluation infrastructure will shape it. There is no question if — it’s who and when. Coval intends to be THE agentic testing platform.
If you want to help build that future, join us.
Who you are
- You’re probably an ex-founder, early-stage operator, or someone who has lived inside the chaos of building zero-to-one systems.
- You love company-building — the ambiguity, the speed, the scrappiness, the constant context-switching.
- You’re a ruthless prioritizer who can simplify complexity, unblock teams, and move the business forward quickly.
- You have exceptional communication skills and can seamlessly shift between customer conversations, investor prep, product thinking, and internal operations.
- You thrive when you have full ownership and a wide mandate. You operate with trust, high agency, and a bias toward action.
- Most of all, you’re user-obsessed and will center customer needs in everything you help the company execute.
What working at Coval will look like
Joining Coval at this stage means becoming a force multiplier across the entire company — helping the founders scale Coval’s execution, clarity, and strategic direction.
You will:
- Work directly with the CEO and founders to drive company priorities, strategic planning, and cross-functional alignment.
- Partner closely with customers: prep and join calls, shape onboarding workflows, understand pain points, and translate insights into product and GTM direction.
- Own internal operations: hiring pipelines, dashboards, investor updates, offsites, process creation, and anything that increases our execution velocity.
- Run point on special projects — whether that’s preparing a major enterprise deal, evaluating a new product line, or building out a new operational system from scratch.
- Bring structure where needed, but never at the expense of speed.
- Make hundreds of micro-decisions weekly across product, GTM, design, and operations — often with incomplete information — while keeping the company pointed at what matters.
We want this to feel like your baby, too — a role where your ownership and impact help shape Coval’s trajectory.
What you’ll need
- Prior experience in a high-velocity startup, ideally in a founder, early operator, chief of staff, strategy, or product-adjacent role.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking — you can zoom out to set direction and zoom in to execute.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; you can turn complexity into clarity.
- A talent for operational excellence: systems, process, organization, prioritization.
- Comfort with ambiguity and minimal specs — you can self-direct and figure things out quickly.
- High EQ and the ability to build trust with customers, teammates, and partners.
Bonus:
- Experience supporting or working with enterprise sales motions
- Product intuition around AI agents, LLMs, or developer tooling
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects end-to-end
P.S.
We work 100% in-person in our San Francisco office. This is an extremely collaborative, high-velocity environment — perfect for someone who wants to build a category-defining company from the ground floor.
