Chief Engineer

About the Role

As a Chief Engineer, you will lead the operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and automated systems across the property. You will ensure that every system, from chilled water and HVAC to Building Management and Guest Room Management, is operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.
This hands-on leadership role combines deep technical knowledge with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and mentorship. You will guide a team of talented engineers and technicians to uphold the highest Four Seasons standards of safety, sustainability, and performance.

What You Will Do

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chilled water systems, HVAC controls, and process cooling equipment to ensure peak performance.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) systems, including pumps, sensors, and control panels.

• Safely manage and monitor flammable gas systems in full compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Design, program, and modify PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems for process automation and control.
• Configure, integrate, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS) for energy efficiency and smart operations.
• Diagnose complex faults, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions.
• Develop and update control logic documentation, electrical schematics, and system diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and hotel teams on system upgrades and new installations.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety codes, and local regulations.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on system operations and control logic.
• Support hotel energy conservation and sustainability programs.

What You Bring

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in facilities or industrial automation.
• Proven expertise in:
– Chilled water and HVAC control systems
– Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations
– Flammable gas systems and safety management
– PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, or similar)
– Building Management Systems (BMS) and GRMS integration
• Strong understanding of control logic, I/O systems, and automation design.
• Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and Profibus.
• Familiarity with energy management and system optimization techniques.
• Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Effective communication and leadership skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Certifications:


• PLC Programming (Siemens / Allen-Bradley)
• BMS or GRMS Systems
• HVAC or Chilled Water Systems
• Safety Training (HAZMAT, Confined Space, Fire & Gas Detection Systems)
